Feature Focus: Advance Language Customization

ElectionBuddy's mission, “Accessible Democracy Around The World”, is at the heart of our newest feature, Advanced Language Customization. Allowing more voters to participate in their preferred language is a key part in improving voter turnout and ensuring that voters feel engaged and comfortable with the vote they are casting. That’s why we’re excited to announce the release of Advance Language Customization - a feature designed to allow for complete control over the translations of your multilingual votes. 

ElectionBuddy already supports translation for the functional parts, like system instructions and buttons. This new feature adds the capability to translate ballot instructions, questions, choices, verification details, confirmation information, and emailed, messaged, or printed notices in the voters preferred language. Allowing administrators to upload their own custom translations in the correct tone and with the appropriate meaning, this feature is not just another simple machine translation option but a fully customizable option so voters can read and fully understand their ballot choices.

Full Control Over Your Multilingual Vote

This powerful feature allows you to create a fully-translated experience for every voter. Here is how it works at each stage of your vote set up:

• Add Languages to Your Vote: Select a primary language and any secondary languages you require. This will allow you to provide translations later. 
• Translate All Custom Ballot Content: You will now be able to provide a translation in your selected languages for, the vote title, voting options, candidate information, bylaw amendments, motions, and more. 
• Customize Notices by Language: Craft and translate your own notices for each selected language. You can send the initial notice, and reminders, in the members preferred language.
• Assign Preferred Languages to Voters: When a voter clicks their voting link, the system will automatically display the ballot and all communications in their listed language, delivering a personalized and welcoming experience.
