Proxy voting can enhance participation in elections, and with ElectionBuddy, managing this process is easier than ever. ElectionBuddy is able to directly support Indirect Proxy Voting, where voters can assign a proxy to cast their vote in their preferred manner.
On the “Ballot” page when “Proxy Voting” is turned on, you’ll see four options for managing proxy assignments:
Important Note: For proxy voting to function in ElectionBuddy, every voter must have an email address on file.
Once proxy voting is activated, you can designate which voters can serve as proxies on the “Voters” page — provided you select the option that allows voter transfers to another voter. Simply enter the names of eligible voters, and those names will appear in a dropdown menu on the live ballot when a voter opts to transfer their vote.
After a voter selects a proxy, the designated proxy will receive a request to accept or deny the transfer. This ensures a smooth and transparent process for all involved.
